Here are some of the most common questions we receive. If there is something you'd like to know, but it's not shown below, please contact us.
Can I apply for limited licence if I have received a mandatory 28 day suspension and need to drive during those 28 days?
No. If you have been disqualified from driving under section 95 of the Land Transport Act (Mandatory 28-day suspension of driver licence in certain circumstances) you cannot apply for a limited licence to drive within that 28 day mandatory suspension.
Why is the service so cheap?
Because we are primarily an internet based business, you only pay for what you use. This allows us to keep overheads at an absolute minimum. You aren’t paying for a corporate office or any costs ordinarily associated with running a physical legal firm. For these reasons we can make our services available at the prices stated.
Have you ever had anyone unsuccessful in applying for a limited licence?
In 2012 we had two client applications declined. These are the only two declines we are aware of in over 300 applications that we have assisted with in two years. In both instances there was a similar factor. While both applicants were lawfully entitled to apply for a limited licence both had three or more previous disqualifications or suspensions or a combination of both. The presiding Judge in both instances determined that the applicant was not deserving of a limited licence. Such a decision is totally at the Judges discretion.
Can I apply for a limited licence without telling my boss?
You are under no legal requirement by the law to tell anyone (unless you have agreed to do so by way of a private agreement such as an employment contract). If you require a licence to drive as part of your employment and it is written in your employment contract then you could avoid telling your employer. If it isn’t stipulated in your employment agreement that you need a current drivers licence and you drive as part of your normal employment then it would be in your best interest to get a supporting affidavit from your employer.
Why would I use your service over and above another online legal service?
Up until the launch of our website you had one of two choices when it came to applying for a limited licence, which is essentially a form filling exercise. You could do it solely on your own trying to make your own way through a minefield that you can't afford to get wrong or alternatively, you could instruct a lawyer to represent you which usually is accompanied by a significant fee. Our service bridges the gap between the two making it more affordable while assuring you with direction and confidence.
